Here is the best option for transportation from San Francisco to my location in Larkspur. The ferry would be an enjoyable and scenic 30 minute ride and much less expensive than a taxi (under $8 compared to $50).
The Golden Gate Ferry only has morning runs on WEEKDAYS .... not weekends or holidays.
The Larkspur Ferry Terminal is 5 minutes from my house and I would be able to pick you up and drive you back before and after our fishing trip.
FERRY INFO
Ferry Schedule
The Golden Gate Larkspur Ferry departs from the historic San Francisco Ferry building at the Foot of Market Street and arrives at the visually stunning Larkspur Ferry Terminal in the heart of Marin County, just a short walk from Larkspur Landing shopping center. Once a quarry near San Quentin State Prison, the landing now features a delightful array of unique shops, wonderful restaurants and relaxing outdoor areas.
Golden Gate's Larkspur ferry fleet includes large 715-passenger vessels, plus the smaller but swifter catamarans M.V Del Norte and M.V. Mendocino. Trips across the San Francisco Bay range from 30 to 50 minutes (depending on vessel type) and offer spectacular views of the Golden Gate Bridge, Angel Island, Marin hill towns, and magnificent Mount Tamalpais. Larkspur ferries feature indoor and outdoor seating.
