Due to tides and changing wind conditions, half-day charters  are recommended.  These are at least 4 hours long.  If tide and weather conditions warrant, and the fish are cooperating,  trips can be extended for an hourly rate. The Fall Run, during September and October, is the time for longer trips.

CASTING:  The ability to cast a minimum of 50 to 60 feet is a necessary skill.  As long as you have good basic casting skills, including loop control, I can help you through the transition to casting these heavier lines and larger flies.  A long cast is in the strike zone for a much longer time than a short cast.  A  skilled caster can make 90 foot casts repeatedly.  Learning to Double Haul gives you the ability to make much longer casts with less effort expended.  And to catch more fish!

Please discuss your casting abilities with me if you have any questions.

The wearing of EYE PROTECTION is required when fishing!  No Exceptions.  Safety glasses are available on the boat.

Standard Guided Charter:

One or Two persons -  Half Day ... 4+ hours   …  $425

This is the standard pure fishing trip. At least 4 hours, usually a little more.  We will move about the bay trying different locations until we find the fish.  Bring your camera, some of these areas offer pretty spectacular scenery when seen by boat.

  • Charter may be extended at the rate of $50 per hour ... schedule permitting.
  • $50.00 additional for a third person.  (Only 2 anglers will fish at the same time)
  • Reels are set up for left hand retrieve.  Please advise if right hand retrieve is preferred.

We Fish Together” Guided Trip

ONE person -              Half Day ... 4+ hours  …   $350

The boat will be handled as in the Standard Charter.  I am able to maneuver the boat around structure or adjust our drift with my belt-mounted controls.  Once a drift is set up, I may pick up a rod and cast to the opposite side of the boat.  The guiding duties always come first ... handling the boat, landing fish, maintaining your equipment.

Advantages … a little less expensive if you are a single angler, greater chance of locating fish with flies working both sides of the boat, and an opportunity to compare the effectiveness of different retrieves and flies.  Especially helpful to those just starting striped bass fly fishing … the quickest way to shorten the learning curve!  You will receive as much instruction as you desire.  By the end of our trip, you will have a very good understanding of how to catch stripers on a fly rod!
